Fat-Burning Cappuccino

Coffee and dairy products create an acidic environment in the body. The body needs to be an alkaline state for weight loss to occur. Dandy Blend, a blend of dandelion and chicory root is very alkalizing. The medium chain triglycerides found in both palm and coconut oils help stimulate fat metabolism. Cinnamon helps to fight cravings by balancing blood sugar.

12 ounces hot water, just off the boil
1 heaping teaspoon Dandy Blend
1 tablespoon palm oil
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon plus some for sprinkling
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash of cayenne (optional)

Place all ingredients into the wet container except for the cayenne. Turn on variable speed 1, increase to 10, then high. Blend 30 - 60 seconds until foamy. Pour into mug and sprinkle with cinnamon and cayenne.

Iron Sunshine

Vegetarian sources of iron are hard to come by. Molasses is a great source at 15% per tablespoon. Dulse and oranges have nutrients to support absorption. Further, the addition of a small amount of cabbage (or other sulfur vegetable such as kale, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, or broccoli) will boost the absorption of the amino acids found in dulse, raising the complete protein level.

2 juice oranges, seeded and peeled
1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
1 teaspoon dulse powder
1/2 cabbage leaf (or other sulphur vegetable)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup ice cubes

Place all ingredients in the wet container. Turn on variable speed 1, increase to 10, then high. Blend 30 - 60 seconds to reach desired smoothness.
